Occurrence remarks Large shrub to 12 m high. Pale brown bark hanging in strips from older branches and trunk. Leaves dark green, white hairy, less hairy with age, in some cases leaf surfaces concolorous, in others cases lower surface paler. Hypanthium initially white hairy but hairs darker with age, and with further age the outer layer with hairs is often shed. Petals 5, white, stamens c. 40, anthers green to pale brown, filaments white
